First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
Psst I found this at Becky’s Book Blog. Please go check her out!
- Pick a book off your shelf (it could be a current read, ARC, TBR, favorite read, close your eyes and pick a book) and open to the first page.
- Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first.
- Finally… reveal the book!
They called me the Bitch Queen, the she-wolf, because I murdered a man and exiled my king the night before they crowned me.
Ok are you ready ?????????????

I know right!!! I got this ARC way too damn early hahaha
Ooo it sounds interesting!
Oooh! I’ve not heard of that one but I will definitely be checking it out after that first line!
Itll be my CWW so you’ll get more information. I’m telling you Orbit has three fall releases and this in winter… that I’m just like insanely in on.
They are bringing out some awesome releases lately! I keep requesting on netgalley as soon as I see they’re the publisher ????
Hahaha!! Yes!!! And my % was going so well on there ????♀️
Tell me about it! Mines back down to the low 60’s now… bring on a netgalley book binge ????
The summer fling helped me cl imb out and now here I go again although truly once Oct passed all is quiet, really. And that surprises me. You think there would be a holiday rush?
I was thinking about that the other day… most of the releases I’m looking forward too now and Oct and the odd Nov but nothing in December, which is a bit weird
Exactly. Its Sept. Oct and then a couple in Nov and then… crickets. Lol
