Goodreads Monday- And It Is A Real Pip- Wait For It…

Goodreads Monday is hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners.  All you have to do is show off a book from your TBR that you’re looking forward to reading.
I have seen a few amazing bloggers that I follow feature this post on their site and so I wanted to give it a shot!

It is inspired by a very special and long standing issue on my TBR (that, as the blog banner would indicate, is now driving me to drink… hence the header) that was recently thrown over the ledge when Twitter got into the game…

Follow Jay Kristoff- He Will Just Keep Haunting You If You Don’t

As you can see I took the photo because I couldn’t make it up if I tried.

You all did this to me. You know you did so don’t even ATTEMPT to try and deny it, hide it or anything else of the sort. You did this. You already voted on Illuminae as to where I would start and I will keep my promise (might be slightly delayed, now with the move and all).

However, I still think someone should start a petition for Mr. Kristoff to send me his entire back catalog- call it a housewarming gift for my new apartment.

With Illuminae being the book everyone chose, I thought I would pick the first book of the series that everyone is currently ripping their heart over to feature in my first Goodreads Monday because… it just makes sense. I mean he’s haunting my TBR and all.
And so I give you…

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle, #1)

Synopsis:
In a land where three suns almost never set, a fledgling killer joins a school of assassins, seeking vengeance against the powers who destroyed her family.
Daughter of an executed traitor, Mia Corvere is barely able to escape her father’s failed rebellion with her life. Alone and friendless, she hides in a city built from the bones of a dead god, hunted by the Senate and her father’s former comrades. But her gift for speaking with the shadows leads her to the door of a retired killer, and a future she never imagined.
Now, Mia is apprenticed to the deadliest flock of assassins in the entire Republic—the Red Church. If she bests her fellow students in contests of steel, poison and the subtle arts, she’ll be inducted among the Blades of the Lady of Blessed Murder, and one step closer to the vengeance she desires. But a killer is loose within the Church’s halls, the bloody secrets of Mia’s past return to haunt her, and a plot to bring down the entire congregation is unfolding in the shadows she so loves.
Will she even survive to initiation, let alone have her revenge?
